Announcing the 1940’s Wrap Dress Sewalong!
The 1940’s Wrap Dress is an intermediate level pattern with lots of great techniques to learn. With everything from sleeves to a collar, pleats to bias binding, we know there are a few techniques not everyone will have tried before. Our 1940’s Wrap Dress sewalong offers you a helping hand as you fit and sew your own version at home.
Meet the pattern The 1940’s Wrap Dress is a stylish, sophisticated vintage-inspired woven wrap dress with beautiful detailing. It features a wrap front bodice with a front collar and pretty shoulder pleats. The bodice gathers into the uniquely-shaped pointed waistband, and the dress closes with hidden buttons or press studs. The slightly A-line wrap skirt is flattering on all shapes, and the narrow sleeves mean you can pair this dress with your favourite jumper or cardi. Both the sleeves and skirt come with a choice of two different lengths. What is a sewalong? In the 1940’s Wrap Dress sewalong we’re going to break down the instructions into tiny baby steps that anyone can manage. Every couple of days we’ll post a new blog post on our website, which you can follow along with. Each post contains step-by-step reference photos and lots of tips and tricks. We’ll start with fitting and pattern alterations, and then we’ll sew at a gentle pace so that everyone has time to join in. And we offer email support too, so if there’s anything you’re confused about, just drop us an email.
