Something strange is happening at Sew Over It HQ… we’ve all ditched our dresses and are practising our stretches in order to try out the newest additions to our range; our first activewear patterns! Read on to meet the Kingsly Top and the Huby Leggings, or watch our video tuition to dive right into sewing up your perfect activewear.
Kingsly Top
The Kingsly Top is a classic racerback sports top with a twist. The flattering scooped out shape of the back features a separate gathered panel that adds a little bit of detail and potential for colour blocking. The gathered panel creates a flattering loose shape that will also help keep you cool whilst you work out by allowing the top to skim the body. The Kingsly Top has topstitched binding at both the neck and armholes creating a professional looking garment that’ll make you look as good as you feel!
Huby Leggings
Made for with comfort in mind, the Huby Leggings are perfect for feeling at ease whilst exercising, or curling up on the sofa (there’s no judgement here!). With no side seam and a wide waistband, the Huby Leggings are sure to remain in place in any activity and come in two lengths to suit all weathers. A super simple construction method combined with some interesting panels details means that the Huby Leggings can be whipped up in a couple of hours, meaning you can still get that satisfied feeling whether you’ve gone for a run or not!
If you’re making a Kingsly and Huby set for being active in then we recommend using a knit fabric with a spandex or lycra content of at least 2%. This will ensure that your leggings remain snug over time. However, if you fancy a pair that might be used more for Sunday afternoons in the house, or perhaps sleepwear, rather than pounding the streets, then you can use a super cosy cotton jersey for your Huby Leggings and a soft viscose jersey for your Kingsly Top. Comfort is key!
