Get to know the Aida Dress
Meet the Aida Dress, the latest addition to our Vintage pattern collection. With a nod to the classic 1940s tea dress, Aida is a woven dress with a figure-flattering empire line, gathers under the bust for shaping and a gently A-line panelled skirt. With the option to add some extra pretty details to the sleeve, this dress is just dreamy!
Aimed at Intermediate sewers, this pattern is packed with beautiful details that make it a really satisfying project to sink your teeth into!
Choose between two lengths: make an elegant Aida Dress in the longer version, or keep it short and cute, just above the knee. Aida looks great with or without tights, styled with boots or heels – she’s the perfect dress to carry you through winter into spring.
Featuring a curved empire waistline with pretty gathers under the bust and a panelled skirt for a flattering fit, the Aida Dress is a fitted yet comfortable woven dress. Make her in a solid colour to make the style lines pop!
You can make Aida with a simple sleeve, or with a gentle puff sleeve and a shirred cuff for extra prettiness. The dress is finished with facings and an invisible zip at the back.
Our Pattern Insiders have been busy making their Aida dresses in some beautiful prints. They got creative with different necklines, sheer sleeves and added pockets! Aida works beautifully in viscose, viscose twill or crepe fabrics. What will you make yours in?
