With options to make it a super quick lunchtime make (see Lisa whip hers up here!) or a more detailed sew, you can personalise this make to your sewing skill, sewing time and even water bottle size!

The water bottle cover is a an Absolute Beginner sewing pattern.

Fabric recommendations

30cm of medium weight cotton or canvas
30cm of medium weight cotton for lining
30cm heavy weight interfacing
180cm of 2cm wide webbing
40cm of piping cord
1 cord lock

Optional, if you want to make your bag strap adjustable
– 2 x 2cm rectangle D-ring
– 1 x 2cm tri-glide buckle

The downloadable pattern file contains:

  • printable pattern (in tiled print-at-home format)
  • printable pattern (in A1 copyshop format)
  • printable illustrated instruction booklet

The Water Bottle Cover pattern is 6 A4/US letter pages.

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper. Alternatively you can choose to have the copyshop files printed on large A0 paper, and posted to you at home. If you’re using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
