Sew a bra-friendly summer dress with the stunning Sofia Dress PDF pattern!
The Sofia Dress is a gorgeous strappy dress with a lower back cut-out and the choice of buttons or a bow for the back closure.
The bodice is lined and gathered at the centre front to create a gentle sweetheart shape over a wide waistband.
Version one closes with a beautiful bow at the back which is fully bra-friendly when tied the right way. We'll be posting a video on our socials soon showing the best way to tie the Sofia bow.
Version two closes with buttons at the centre back and includes two different options to create a higher or lower back cut-out.
The skirt is elasticated at the back and you can make the lower back more or less exposed by using a longer or shorter length of elastic. Choose between a simple gathered skirt or three gathered tiers for more volume and for a chance to play with the print on your fabric - Sofia is a great one for stripes!
The Sofia Dress works in a variety of light to medium weight woven fabrics. Make her in cotton or chambray for a more structured look, or create a flowy summer dress in viscose or crepe. Our wonderful Pattern Insiders have made some gorgeous versions and some really great hacks too!

The Sofia Dress is available in our full range of sizes UK 6-30, split into two different blocks: sizes 6-20 are drafted for a B cup, sizes 18-30 are for a D cup. The PDF pattern is aimed at Confident Beginners and the booklet is packed with fitting tips and ideas on how to change the closure for accessibility.
