Sew Over It - Beginner Sewing eBook

Let's have a look at the six beginner projects you'll be sewing!

Sew Over It - Envelope Cushion
You’ll start by making the Envelope Cushion to help you get comfortable using a sewing machine and handling fabric. You’ll learn how to pin and cut out a pattern, use basic sewing machine settings to sew the seams and how to topstitch for a neat finish.

Sew Over It - beginner sewing
Once you’ve completed your cushion cover, you will move on to making three different types of bag. As well as being a really useful item to own, the Drawstring Bag will teach you how to make a channel for your drawstring and how to neatly finish the edges of your pattern pieces.

Sew Over It - Tote Bags
With the third pattern in the eBook you’ll make a useful Tote Bag and learn how to create and attach bag straps. Once you’ve made one (or a few!) for yourself you can make them for friends and family to spread the sewing love!

Sew Over It - toiletries bag
Step things up by tackling the Toiletries Bag sewing pattern. It's a great way to get to grips with sewing zips whilst making something useful. This bag is perfect for keeping anything from your make-up to your thread spools!

Next up is the Wrap Skirt - your first dressmaking project! It’s a simple skirt with two length options (midi and knee length) and a waistband with ties. You’ll learn how to use your first multi-sized PDF dressmaking pattern, how to use interfacing, sew on a waistband, create ties and a tie gap and how to hem your skirt. Because it’s a wrap skirt, you can adjust the ties to get a perfect fit so it’s great for a novice dressmaker. This pattern comes in sizes UK 6-30.

Last, but definitely not least, are the Pyjamas, a great introduction to making trousers. We’ll teach you how to create an elasticated waistband and you will have the option to add some in-seam pockets. Because everyone loves pockets! This pattern comes in sizes UK 6-30.

By the end of the eBook you’ll feel at home behind the sewing machine. Thanks to the free Stitch School videos you will know your backstitching from your topstitching. With six beautiful projects to feel incredibly proud of you’ll also have gained the confidence to move on to more complex sewing patterns.
