Already one of our most popular patterns, the Betty Dress is now even more versatile! This add-on pack allows you to change up the original boat neckline of our ever-popular Betty Dress sewing pattern to either a V-neck or scooped neck, both with or without 3/4 length sleeves!

With newly drafted pattern pieces for the bodice fronts, you just swap the original pattern pieces for the new ones with no extra pattern drafting or adjusting to be done! All the work has been done for you.

The instructions are fully photographed and take you through each stage step by step.

The pack includes the following options:

  • V-Neck dress (sleeveless)
  • V-Neck dress (sleeved)
  • Scoop neck dress (sleeveless)
  • Scoop neck dress (sleeved)

PLEASE NOTE: The Betty Dress Add-on Pack is not a complete pattern. You will need a copy of the Betty Dress pattern in order to make your dress. The Add-on Pack sleeve will NOT work with the original boat neck Betty Dress bodice.

The Betty Add-On pack is an Intermediate sewing pattern.

Recommended fabrics and fabric requirements
The Betty Dress works beautifully in a variety of different fabrics, including light to medium weight cotton and cotton lawn, rayon, crepe and even lightweight wools. Because of the nature of the circle skirt, we recommend avoiding any strong one-way directional prints.

See the sizing chart for fabric requirements. (Note that there are two back covers for each different neckline – make sure you are using the right one.)

What will I receive?
The downloadable pattern file contains:

  • printable pattern (in both tiled print-at-home and copyshop format)
  • fully-illustrated printable instruction booklet
  • copyshop permission letter

The Betty Add-on Pack pattern for the scoop-neck variation is either 18 A4 pages, 22 US letter pages, or 1 A0 copyshop page (sizes 6-20), or 26 A4 pages, 29 US letter pages, or 2 A0 copyshop pages (sizes 18-30).

The Betty Add-on Pack pattern for the v-neck variation is either 18 A4 pages, 22 US letter pages, or 1 A0 copyshop page (sizes 6-20), or 26 A4 pages, 29 US letter pages, or 2 A0 copyshop pages (sizes 18-30).

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper. Alternatively you can choose to have the copyshop files printed on large A0 paper, and posted to you at home. If you’re using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
