Sizing & Fabric Requirements
For the Chloe Coat we recommend a medium to heavyweight wool fabric, such as tweed, boucle, boiled wool or melton. For a lighter coat, you could also try a jacquard, linen or viscose linen blend. If you are new to sewing coats we recommend avoiding fabrics with a very loose weave (such as boucle) as these fray easily and can make your sewing more tricky.
Chloe is fully-lined, so you will also need lining fabric. We recommend using something with a silky finish so you can get the jacket on and off easily, such as satin, acetate, or even silk charmeuse for all-out luxury. Crepes and lustrous viscose will also work nicely.
You will also need:
- 2x pieces of ice wool wadding (measuring 10cm x 23cm)
- 22″ open-ended zip for the zipped coat
- OR 5 or 6 2.1cm press studs if you’d prefer to close your coat with poppers
The Chloe Coat sewing pattern is available in sizes 8-20. See the size chart for details on measurements and fabric requirements.
Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.
What will I receive?
The downloadable pattern file contains:
- printable pattern (in both tiled A4 and US Letter print-at-home format, and copyshop format)
- illustrated printable instruction booklet
- copyshop permission letter
The Chloe Coat sewing pattern is 81 pages long or 4 A0 copyshop pages.
If you purchase the PDF Pattern + Copyshop Printing option, you will also receive your pattern printed on A0 paper in the post. Find out more about our PDF Printing Service here.
So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper. Alternatively you can choose to have the copyshop files printed on large A0 paper, and posted to you at home. If you’re using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
