Sew a lined chore jacket that fits with the Frankie Jacket PDF pattern!

The Frankie Jacket is an on-trend chore jacket with a Sew Over It twist. To create a boxy jacket that works for all shapes, we’ve included cut-away darts at the waist, to bring it in from the bust point. The 18-30 size band also includes a bust dart for extra shaping.

Choose between two styles: embrace the utilitarian look with version 1, featuring a sharp collar, darted sleeve and angled patch pockets to keep your hands warm. Version 2 is more feminine, with a touch of vintage given by the Peter Pan style collar, rounded flap patch pockets and a fuller sleeve gathered into a narrow cuff. Both collars are constructed with a partial collar stand to make it sit just right, and the jacket and pockets are fully lined, for a beautiful finish on the inside.

The Frankie Jacket is hip-length, perfect to wear with our Ultimate Jeans. Button her up all the way to the collar for a really neat look, or leave her open to show a bit of lining.

Sew your chore jacket in a mediumweight woven fabric like corduroy, drill, canvas, denim or melton, and line it with a fun viscose for a pop of print on the inside, or a plain acetate in a complementing colour.

The pattern involves many steps, but none of them are too tricky (we promise!), so the Frankie Jacket is aimed at Confident Beginners.

Sizing & Fabric Requirements
The Frankie Jacket is sized between UK sizes 6-30 and is split into two different blocks: sizes 6-20 (B cup) and sizes 18-30 (D cup). See the size charts (last 4 images above) for details on fabric requirements.

Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.

What will I receive?
The downloadable pattern file contains:

  • printable pattern (in both tiled print-at-home and copyshop format) in all sizes
  • fully-illustrated printable instruction booklet

The Frankie Jacket is either 70 A4, 76 US letter pages, or 4 A0 copyshop page (sizes 6-20), or 90 A4 pages, 94 US letter pages, or 5 A0 copyshop pages (size 18-30).

If you purchase the PDF Pattern + Copyshop Printing option, you will also receive your pattern printed on A0 paper in the post. Find out more about our PDF Printing Service here.

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper. Alternatively you can choose to have the copyshop files printed on large A0 paper, and posted to you at home. If you’re using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% scale (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
