Full of romance, the Freia Blouse is a gorgeously floaty lightweight top, with on-trend ruffles at the neckline and sleeve hems. The blouse gathers around the neckline into a pretty ruffle collar and is finished with a rouleau tie, while the set-in sleeves gather with elastic. Choose from a cute short puff sleeve, or an elegant full length one. The bodice front (and optionally back) are lined for modesty, with the sleeves kept sheer for a delicate mix of textures.

Shaped with gathers rather than darts, Freia makes for a comfortable, easy fit. Designed to be sewn in lightweight drapey fabrics, this blouse makes a nice challenge for an intermediate sewer looking to grow their skills with an interesting project. The pattern includes instructions for French seams for an impeccable finish.

The Freia Blouse is an Intermediate sewing pattern.

Fabric Suggestions

We recommend lightweight woven fabrics with drape for the Freia Blouse, such as georgette and chiffon. Because of the delicate collar, Freia requires a fabric that is particularly lightweight. Even viscose and crepes may be a little on the heavy side. As it's likely your fabric will be somewhat sheer, we recommend lining the front bodice (and optionally the back bodice too). Choose a plain fabric in the same weight as your outer fabric for this.

Pattern Sizes & Fabric Requirements

The Freia Blouse sewing pattern is available in UK sizes 6-30. The pattern is split into two different blocks, sizes 6-20 (B cup) and sizes 18-30 (D cup). See the size chart below for details on fabric requirements.

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
