The Kingsly Top is a classic racerback activewear sewing pattern with a twist! Whether you’re into running, yoga, zumba or just dancing round your living room, add to your handmade wardrobe with your own me-made activewear!

Kingsly features a comfy breezy fit, pretty curved neckline extending into a sporty racerback, along with a dramatic dipped hem at the front and back, which rises at the side seam for a highly flattering look.

As well as a sporty, scooped-out shape, the back stars a separate gathered panel which adds a lovely little bit of detail – and potential for some fun colour blocking. The gathering adds to the flowing fit which allows the top to skim the body, keeping you comfy and cool while you work out.

Topstitched binding at both the neckline and armholes finishes the raw edges, and creates a professional looking garment that’ll make you look as good as your post-exercise endorphin-filled self feels!

Why not sew a pair of Huby Leggings to match?

Fabric Suggestions
For Kingsly we recommend using lightweight knit fabrics such as lycra, viscose or bamboo jerseys. Technical fabrics designed specifically for activewear, usually blended with elastane or spandex, are also perfect and will often provide a wicking quality to keep you cool.

Sizing & Fabric Requirements
The Kingsly Top sewing pattern is sized between UK sizes 6-30. The pattern is split into two different blocks, sizes 6-20 (B cup) and sizes 18-30 (D cup). See the chart for details on fabric requirements.

Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.

What will I receive?
The downloadable pattern file contains:

  • printable pattern (in both tiled print-at-home and copyshop format) in all sizes
  • fully-illustrated printable instruction booklet
  • copyshop permission letter

The Kingsly Top pattern is either 16 A4/US letter pages, or 1 A0 copyshop page (both size ranges)

If you purchase the PDF Pattern + Copyshop Printing option, you will also receive your pattern printed on A0 paper in the post. Find out more about our PDF Printing Service here.

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper. Alternatively you can choose to have the copyshop files printed on large A0 paper, and posted to you at home. If you’re using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
