Snuggle up in style this season in a new pair of made-to-measure PJs. The Luna Pyjamas will keep you cosy while feeling a million dollars!

The Luna Pyjamas are an easy pattern to make, so perfect for beginners. If you have taken our Intro to Sewing – Beginner’s Sewing Course on Stitch School, this would be a great next step!

And for all you who have a few dressmaking projects under your belt, you will enjoy the simplicity of this pattern. We think Luna’s will be the perfect Christmas PJs, either for you or for someone else lucky enough to have you sew them for them!

The trousers are super simple and there is no outside leg seam, which makes them super comfy to wear and speedy to sew! At the waist, they are hemmed to create an elastic channel making them easy to fit.

The top is a simple wrap and the tie threads through the side seam and wraps around the back. You can choose to tie it at the side or to wrap it around a further time to create more shape that the waist. The neckline is finished with a facing and that’s it – so simple!

Fabric Suggestions
We recommend light to medium weight woven fabrics with drape for the Luna Pyjamas, such as rayon, viscose, cotton lawn, cotton voile, double gauze and linen. As you will be sleeping in them, we suggest sticking to natural fibres to keep your pyjamas soft and breathable.

You will also need either 1.5m bias seam tape interfacing and 1.2m of 2cm elastic (6-20) or 2m bias seam tape interfacing and 1.5m of 2cm elastic (18-30).

Sizing & Fabric Requirements
The Luna Pyjamas sewing pattern is sized between UK sizes 6-30. The pattern is split into two different blocks: sizes 6-20 (B Cup), and sizes 18-30 (D Cup). Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.

See the chart for details on fabric requirements.

What will I receive?
The downloadable pattern file contains:

  • printable pattern (in both tiled print-at-home and copyshop format)
  • fully-photographed printable instruction booklet
  • copyshop permission letter

The Luna Pyjamas pattern is either 45 A4 pages, 54 US letter pages, or 3 A0 copyshop page (sizes 6-20), or 60 A4, 66 US letter pages, or 4 A0 copyshop page (size 18-30).

If you purchase the PDF Pattern + Copyshop Printing option, you will also receive your pattern printed on A0 paper in the post. Find out more about our PDF Printing Service here.

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper. Alternatively you can choose to have the copyshop files printed on large A0 paper, and posted to you at home. If you’re using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
