Sew a super-quick knit skirt with the Lana Skirt PDF sewing pattern!

The Lana Skirt is the new and improved version of our Sewalong Jersey Skirt. We have extended the sizing to our full range of sizes UK 6-30 and we’ve created a brand new instruction booklet to take you through every step of the process!

Lana is an easy-to-sew simple skirt designed for knit fabrics. She comes together really quickly and is a great piece to add to your wardrobe. Throw it on with tights, boots and a jumper for a perfect cosy outfit to take you through the colder months.

We’ve given you two lengths to choose from: mini or just over the knees, but you could really pick any length you like as the pattern is easy to shorten or lengthen.

Choose a knit fabric with some structure, like Ponte di Roma, interlock knits or double knits as the skirt needs some structure, so avoid anything too slinky.

NB: If you previously bought the Sewalong Jersey Skirt you can use the ‘PDF Instruction Booklet Only’ option in the drop down menu to get the new Instruction Booklet, which includes layplans, size charts and fully illustrated step-by-step sewing instructions.

The Lana Skirt is an Absolute Beginner knit skirt sewing pattern.

Fabric Suggestions

Medium weight knit fabrics such as Ponte di Roma or interlock knits and double knits. Avoid using viscose jersey or viscose blends as the skirt needs fabric with some structure. Be sure to pick something with good stretch and good recovery.

The Lana Skirt is available in UK sizes 6-30 and is split into two different blocks, sizes 6-20 and sizes 18-30. See the size charts below for details on fabric requirements.

What will I receive?

The downloadable pattern file contains:

Printable PDF Pattern in sizes A4, US Letter & A0
Fully-illustrated printable instruction booklet

If you purchase the PDF Pattern + A0 Printing option, you will also receive your pattern printed on A0 paper in the post. Find out more about our A0 Printing Service here.

The Lana Skirt pattern is either 15 A4/US letter pages or 1 A0 page (sizes 6-20), or 17 A4/US letter pages, or 1 A0 page (size 18-30).

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
