Sew yourself some practical Overalls with our PDF Sewing Pattern!

If you love a messy hobby, this pattern is for you! The Overalls feature a flat collar, hidden button placket and long sleeves finished with a cuff and button. There are plenty of optional pockets to keep all your essentials on you: deep angled patch pockets on the front trousers, plus patch pockets on the chest and back trousers that close with a flap secured with velcro.

The Overalls are nice and roomy so you can wear them over a jumper and leggings to stay warm as you tend to your crop in the allotment or work on your next masterpiece in your artist’s studio! Shaping is provided by a hidden drawstring at the waist that you can adjust to loosen or tighten the fit.

Make them in a sturdy fabric like cotton twill/drill, denim or corduroy. Keep things simple by using matching thread, or show off with some contrast topstitching.

Fabric Suggestions
We recommend medium weight woven fabrics, such as corduroy, stretch denim, cotton twill, cotton drill, twill crepe and heavier linens.

Sizing & Fabric Requirements
The Overalls pattern is sized between UK sizes 6-30 and is split into two different blocks, sizes 6-20 and sizes 18-30. See the chart for details on fabric requirements (last four pictures in the gallery).

Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.

What will I receive?
The downloadable pattern file contains:

  • printable pattern (in both tiled print-at-home and copyshop format)
  • fully-illustrated printable instruction booklet
  • copyshop permission letter

The Overalls pattern is either 66 A4 pages, 70 US letter pages or 3 A0 copyshop pages (sizes 6-20), or 72 A4 pages, 82 US letter pages, or 4 A0 copyshop pages (size 18-30).

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper. Alternatively you can choose to have the copyshop files printed on large A0 paper, and posted to you at home. If you’re using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
