Make the perfect jogging bottoms with the Ellis Joggers sewing pattern!

We designed the Ellis Joggers to be your go-to unisex activewear (or loungewear) pattern.

The Ellis Joggers feature an elasticated waistband with the choice of eyelets or buttonholes to thread a drawstring through. The legs are slightly tapered, with the option to add some elastic at the hem. And, of course, they have pockets! Stylish slanted pockets with a topstitching detail. Use a Ponte di Roma or French Terry for the perfect loungewear and sportswear, or make them in a cotton jersey to use them as comfy PJs.

Ellis can be sewn on a regular sewing machine or with an overlocker, it’s a great first project for those new to sewing with knit fabrics, and they come together super quick for more experienced sewers.

The Ellis Joggers unisex pattern is aimed at Confident Beginners. Make it as womenswear or menswear.

Fabric Suggestions

Medium weight knit fabrics such as cotton sweatshirting, cotton fleece, polar fleece, French terry, Ponte di Roma and double knits with at least 15% stretch. You will also need 1.3m of cord for the waist, 1.2m of 38mm/11/2” elastic and a small scrap of knit interfacing.

Optionally you may want to add two eyelets for the cord, so pick an eyelet wide enough to fit the cord.

The Ellis Joggers pattern is sized between UK sizes 6-30 and is split into two different blocks, sizes 6-20 and sizes 18-30.

The Ellis Joggers pattern is either 33 A4/US letter pages or 3 A0 pages (sizes 6-20), or 54 A4/US letter pages, or 3 A0 pages (size 18-30).

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
