Emmeline is a pretty, high-waisted skirt with a button front, beautiful bow belt and half-stitched inverted box pleats. The waist features a waistband with belt loops to keep the belt neatly in place.

To create that elegant, slimline effect, the pleats are partly stitched, which is ideal for those who don’t like to add extra volume. 1950’s inspired with a modern edge, Emmeline sits just below the knee and is the perfect length for spring and summer.

The Emmeline Skirt is a lovely afternoon project for beginners onwards. With inverted box pleats, buttonholes and a waistband there’s lots of new techniques for sewing newbies to get stuck into, whilst she’ll be a nice quick sew for anyone who has made a few garments before.
