The Hackney Shirt is our first menswear pattern. A classic shirt, it features a collar with collar stand, back yoke with box pleat, traditional shirt cuffs with a tower placket, flat felled seams, grown-on button stands, slightly curved hem and patch chest pocket.

Contemporary and cool, it’s slim-fitting yet comfy, and because the collar can be worn both open and with a tie, it works for everyday casual as well as keeping you smart at the office.

The Hackney Shirt makes a great menswear gift, but it can also work as womenswear if you like that oversized shirt look! Make it in viscose and wear it tied over a dress or with jeans and a tank top!

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm. Is this sewing pattern layered?
