Sew a pair of swishy wide-leg trousers with the Hazel Trousers PDF Pattern!

The Hazel Trousers are the new and improved version of our Ultimate Culottes sewing pattern. We have extended the sizing to our full UK 6-30 range and we've added a gorgeous full length version alongside the original cropped version.

They are designed to sit on the natural waist, and come with two finishing options: Version 1 includes a waistband with lovely wide belt loops. Version 2 is finished with a neat facing on the inside. Both options feature single darts at the front and double darts at the back for shaping, with an invisible zip in the side seam.

Fitted only at the waist, the Hazel Trousers are a great pattern for those new to trouser-making.

The pattern is perfect for drapey fabrics such as viscose and crepe, and depending on the fabric you choose, they can be the perfect holiday trousers to pair with sandals, or a real showstopper to wear with heels!

Fabric Suggestions

For the Hazel Trousers we recommend light to medium weight woven fabrics with lots of drape, such as viscose, crepe, suiting wool, viscose linen and rayon.

The Hazel Trousers pattern is either 34 A4 pages, 36 US letter pages, or 2 A0 pages (sizes 6-20), or 41 A4 pages, 46 US letter pages, or 3 A0 pages (size 18-30).

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
