There are a few different ways that you can finish a neckline edge, the most common being a neckline facing or by using bias binding. If you’re a fan of a facing but a pattern calls for bias binding (think our Giselle or Pippa dresses) then you can put your pattern drafting skills to work and draft yourself a facing instead.

Learning how to draft a facing is really easy and is a great step into the larger world of pattern drafting. In this tutorial, Sasha will show you the principles of drafting a neckline facing for a relatively simple pattern (our Giselle Dress), but will also show you what to do if your pattern has more details at the neckline, such as pleats or darts.
