Designed for layering and fitted with princess seams at the front and back, Clementine is a highly customisable pattern.

In version one the princess seams continue into the mini skirt with no waist seam, and pockets are constructed into the front seams. This version is perfect for heavier fabrics such as denim and corduroy.

If you prefer a waist seam, make version two with a gathered panelled skirt that hits just below the knee and includes a front split. This version is perfect for lighter needlecord fabrics and even a cotton poplin for warmer weather.

Both versions are finished with an adjustable buckle detail at the back and an invisible zip on the side, and they can be made as a sleeveless pinafore or a dress with long sleeves.

The sleeved dress is a standalone piece, ideal to wear with tights and boots. This variation is finished with facings on the neckline and the sleeve, a chance to add a pop of colour that you can show off if you roll up the sleeve hem.

The Clementine Pinafore is finished with an all-in-one facing and is perfect for layering over the Jacinta Blouse (also part of the Everyday Edit eBook), our Amy Shirt, a polo like our Carly Top or any version of the Ultimate T-Shirt, especially the Roll Neck!

Fabric Suggestions

The Clementine Pinafore & Dress can be made in a range of fabrics, depending on the version you’re making. Version 1 is especially suited for medium weight denims, corduroys, canvases and twills. If you’d like to use a lighter weight denim or needlecord then this will work better for version 2. You’ll also need a viscose, cotton or crepe for facings.

Huge thanks to our friends at Minerva who provided all the fabrics for our gorgeous samples.

The Clementine Pinafore & Dress is available in UK sizes 6-30 and is split into two different blocks: sizes 6-20 (B cup) and sizes 18-30 (D cup). See the size charts below for details on fabric requirements.

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm. Is this sewing pattern layered?

Yes! This pattern is layered so you can print off just the size(s) that you need. Find out more about layering here.

Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.
