With two versions included, you can make a swishy midi dress or a high hip-length top - ideal for building a handmade wardrobe full of pieces you’ll wear throughout the season.

Hayley is fitted neatly across the shoulders, with darts in every size to create the perfect fit at the bust, without losing movement through the body. The scoop neckline at both the front and back keeps the style simple and flattering, while an all-in-one facing gives a clean finish on the inside. Add the shaped tie belt to define the waist, or leave it off for a more relaxed silhouette.

Hayley works best in light to medium weight woven fabrics with a bit of drape. Viscose linen, linen, viscose and crepe are all perfect choices, and softer cottons work well too - just make sure they’ve got a bit of drape if you’re sewing up version 1.

The Hayley Dress can easily be dressed up with heels or worn more casually with trainers or sandals. Pair it with a Sorrento Jacket or Amy Shirt when the weather cools. Your Hayley Top will work perfectly with the Rosemary Trousers, Keira Shorts or your favourite pair of Ultimate Jeans for a handmade wardrobe combination you’ll wear on repeat.

Huge thanks to our friends at Sew Me Sunshine who supplied the viscose linen's for Emily & Salma's samples, and to Fabric Godmother for sending us the viscose crepe for Rosie's Hayley Top.

For the Hayley Dress & Top we recommend light to medium weight woven fabrics with lots of drape such as viscose, crepes, linen, viscose linen or viscose twill. You could also use a more stable fabric such as a cotton lawn, for version 2.

The Hayley Dress & Top is available in UK sizes 6-30 and is split into two different blocks: sizes 6-20 (B cup) and sizes 18-30 (D cup). See the size charts below for details on fabric requirements.

The Hayley Dress & Top pattern is either 36 A4, 39 US letter pages, or 2 A0 pages (sizes 6-20), or 45 A4/US letter pages, or 3 A0 page (size 18-30).

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
