Sewing Level

Aimed at confident beginners and upwards, there’s a pattern for every skill level in this summer sewing pattern collection. Most patterns fall in the intermediate range, though the Alba Skirt and Ravello Dress can be tackled by a confident beginner. Porto and Siena are aimed at sewers with a bit more experience, whilst the Sorrento Jacket definitely requires some know-how and sewing precision. With loads of variations, each pattern can be made simpler or more challenging depending on which garment you choose. For instance, whilst its shirred back and fitted bodice put the Siena Dress in intermediate territory, the skirt-only variation can easily be tackled by a beginner. All patterns come with with clear instructions and step-by-step diagrams, guiding you every inch of the way.

Pattern Sizes & Fabric Requirements

The summer sewing patterns in My Capsule Wardrobe: Summer Dreaming are sized between UK 6 – 30. The pattern is split into two different blocks, sizes 6-20 (B cup) and sizes 18-30 (D cup). Let's meet the patterns...

Alba Skirt

The Alba Skirt is a fun-to-sew wrap skirt that sits on the waist, and features a high-low hem look. Fastening at the waist with ties, there are no tricky closures to contend with. Go high drama with a sassy ruffle frill around the hem, or keep it simple and classic - great for when you want your fabric to do the talking! Style your Alba Skirt with wedges and the Siena or Ravello Tops, and you've got a summer look sorted!

Ravello Dress & Top

As easy to wear as it is to sew, Ravello is a wrap dress and top with four variations! Choose from maxi or knee-length for the dress and hip-height or waisted for the top.

Ravello wraps across the front bodice, and features comfortable grown-on sleeves with cuffs, ties at the waist, and a gently curved hem. The raw edges of the neckline and hem are neatly finished with bias binding. Whether you wear yours out to dinner or for lounging by the pool, Ravello is sure to keep you stylish but comfy!

Porto Jumpsuit & Trousers

Casual, cool and incredibly easy to wear, the Porto Jumpsuit is a holiday essential. An outfit-in-one, the loose-fitting bodice and trousers ensure you stay comfortable in the sun's rays, whilst the elasticated channel shows off your waist without feeling restrictive. The bodice buttons to the waist make the Porto Jumpsuit easy to pull on and get going.

If you're a pocket lover, Porto is right up your street, with patch pockets on the bodice, and in-seam pockets in the trousers. The short sleeves are folded up and held in place with tabs, and the full collar and collar stand give a lovely finish to the neckline. If you prefer separates, Porto can be made as summer trousers with an on-the-waist waistband and super comfy fit.

Siena Dress, Top & Skirt

The Siena Dress is the ultimate button-up sundress, with a fitted bodice with sweetheart neckline, shoulder straps, and a floaty gathered skirt. The bodice is shaped with princess seams at the front, and a fun shirred panel at the back - making fitting that little bit easier. Your choice of skinny rouleaux or wider straps can be adjusted to fit with sliders, meaning no slipping off your shoulders. The full skirt features roomy patch pockets, perfect for your sunnies.

Siena also comes with the option to make it as a top and a skirt, perfect for pairing with your other Summer Dreaming makes!

Sorrento Jacket

The quintessential denim jacket, Sorrento is a classic piece in anyone's wardrobe. Designed to pair beautifully with the other styles in this summer sewing pattern collection, the Sorrento Jacket is the perfect throw-on when the evenings turn chilly.

Sorrento features everything you'd expect from a denim jacket including a front and back yoke, chest pockets, collar, cuffs, and waistband tabs - all finished with double lines of immaculate topstitching. With tonnes of classic details and a clever construction, Sorrento is an enjoyable, hugely rewarding project that you'll love for years to come.
