Incredibly versatile, the Penny Dress can be sewn in a huge range of woven fabrics. If you’re a beginner we recommend choosing a cotton lawn, seersucker or linen, whilst intermediate stitchers can have fun with drape, with rayon, viscose and lightweight crepes. With minimal interruptions on the bodice and skirt, there’s lots of scope to make a statement with a bold print for a trendy summer look.

The Penny Dress is available in UK sizes 6-30 and is split into two different blocks, sizes 6-20 (B cup) and sizes 18-30 (D cup). See the size charts below for details on fabric requirements.

The Penny Dress is either 43 A4 pages, 41 US Letter Size pages and 2 A0 pages (sizes 6-20), or 46 A4 /US letter pages, or 3 A0 pages (size 18-30).

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
