Choose between a round neck or a V-neck, then decide if you want long, short or 3/4 length sleeves. The choice of cup sizes (A-B, C-D, E-F, G-H) means that if you usually need to make a small or full bust adjustment to patterns, with Whitley you won’t need to! This makes it great for beginners and those new to fitting.

Once you’ve made the Whitley Top you’ll have a great woven block that’s perfect for some pattern hacking. Shorten the bodice for a cute crop top, or lengthen to make yourself a floaty shift dress for the warmer months!

Fabric Suggestions

The Whitley woven top sewing pattern is designed to be sewn in lightweight woven fabrics. Cotton lawn is a great choice for beginners as it is fairly stable. Using a fabric like viscose and crepe will give the top more drape. For something extra special make try a sandwashed silk or crepe de Chine. Whitley makes a great base to show off vibrant prints and also works well as a classic plain top to add to your everyday wardrobe.

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
